Objectives

Benefits of the Scheme


  • Financial Assistance: The scheme provides financial aid in the form of margin money subsidy for setting up new ventures.
  • Subsidy Rates:
    • General Category: 15% (urban) and 25% (rural)
    • Special Category (SC/ST/OBC, minorities, women, ex-servicemen, physically handicapped, NER, hill and border areas): 25% (urban) and 35% (rural)
  • Loan Limits:
    • Manufacturing Sector: Up to ₹25 lakh
    • Service Sector: Up to ₹10 lakh

Required Documents


  1. Online Application: Applicants can apply online through the official PMEGP e-portal.
  2. Documentation: Submission of project report, personal ID, and address proof, proof of educational qualification, etc.
  3. Screening and Selection: Screening of applications by the respective agencies and banks.
  4. Training: Selected applicants undergo mandatory EDP (Entrepreneurship Development Programme) training.
  5. Loan Disbursement: Post-training, banks disburse the loan amount to the beneficiaries.

Who can Apply


Any individual above 18 years old, Self Help Groups, Institutions registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860, Production Co-operative Societies, and Charitable Trusts.
